Distress Oxide Tags with Kat Scrappiness

I am sharing my DT post on Kat Scrappiness blog --- where I made some tags using my brand new scrappy supplies --- the yummy-licious Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. I wanted them for the longest time and finally got them and never regretted it! They are just so so beautiful and the "oxide" effect is truly gorgeous.
First, I wanted to test the oxide inks on different cardstocks, so I cut 2 tags from watercolor cardstock and textured cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Nesting Tag dies.
I first swiped the ink pad on my craft mat, then spritzed it with my Tim Holtz distress sprayer to get the droplets. Then I smooshed my cardstock on the inks -- drying and spritzing as I go -- to get the "oxide" effect. Once it's all dried up, I stamped the sentiment. I also cut out the heart using the Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Heart dies and added some Metallic Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.
What I noticed is, the inks blended better on the watercolor cardstock and gave a more opaque look. Where else, the textured cardstock did not blend too well and gave a brighter colored look. So, it really depends on which look you prefer, but I like them both :)
Then I also tested the inks on kraft paper. The inks turned out beautifully on darker colored paper and although it looks chalky, it doesn't feel chalky to the touch. I cut out some shapes using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Sky dies to decorate my tag and also added some Nuvo Glitter drops in White Blizzard. I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment ink.
